Good news, times two

A double shot of goodness:

1. I'm not being sued! The 19th was three years to the date of that wreck that totaled my beloved Saturn and brought the wrath of (hurt in a car? call) William Mattar upon me. It passed just like any other day, but it wasn't just any day. At the stroke of midnight, the statute of limitations took effect and I no longer have to worry about that ugly snake coming after me.

2. Within Temptation has signed with Roadrunner Records and their new album, due out next year, will get a proper stateside release...WITH US TOUR! I'm pumped!

More new stuff!

That Griffin Elevator that I wrote about last week arrived on Monday. I dig it...it's a marked improvement over the ugly 3-ring binder that I was using as a stand. The presents-for-myself spree continues with a new order from CD Universe that I'm hoping to receive next week sometime:

Kamelot One Cold Winter's Night The new live DVD.
Kamelot Karma One step closer to filling my Kam collection.
After Forever Invisible Circles My first disc from a band I've been meaning to check out for quite a while.
Threshold Hypothetical See above. :)
Sonata Arctica Winterheart's Guild This finishes my Sonata catalog.

Easy amusement

As a big fan of Dave Letterman's recurring "Will It Float?" segments, I was quite interested to come across "Will It Blend?". This guy sticks everything from hockey pucks to an iPod in a blender and purees it. Great mindless fun. I love it!

Happiness is...

...a pleasant surprise in my inbox! To elaborate: a couple days ago, I ordered a Griffin Elevator to replace the binder that I'm using as a laptop stand. I was surprised to get an email right away saying that it was backordered. I was prepared to wait a few weeks for the thing to ship. Instead, I got an email earlier today saying it's en route and should arrive on Monday. Happy time!

Flaky white stuff

I have a love/hate relationship with winter. Really, though, I think the 'hate' part of that is just bemoaning that it isn't summer and that I finally have to admit that the nice weather is gone for another 5-6 months. There was a nice stretch a week or so ago with temperatures in the 60s. It was all but forgotten last night when the flakes were flying. I was at work and spent much time sulking about the four-inch-thick blanket of snow that built up over the course of the evening. That all changed when I went out at the end of the night. I really don't mind it at all...not even brushing my car off then turning on the windshield wipers, only to have one blade fall right off! (it snapped right back on, but it was a little surprising, to say the least.) Winter's here, I might as well make the best of it. After all, it's not going anywhere for a while.
