So it has come to my attention that I have a regular reader here now. Small miracle?! So yes, this is for you, Bridge. :-P

I've been going back to the woodshed lately. I started a practice regimen a couple months back and had trouble sticking to it. Well, I'm back on the wagon and have had a couple marathon practice sessions in which I've knocked the rust off and added a couple new licks and exercises to my library. I spent a while tonight transcribing the guitar part in the outro of Dream Theater's "Fatal Tragedy"...it was pretty difficult because of the guitar harmonies and the synth playing along. I had to pull out my Metropolis 2000 DVD and play that part in slow motion to really get it. Even then, I'm not 100% sure I have all the right notes. Still, it's close enough for my purposes. I've also started working on a couple new songs...they're pretty early in the process right now, but they look promising. Maybe I'll have something to show soon enough...it's been almost three years since my last original solo output and I'm itching to get some new stuff done.

Oh! Let this be a warning: if I had been the guy who spotted the kid who pulled the fire alarm at the Albright on Friday night...well, let's just say that the kid would have needed medical attention. So yeah, if you were thinking of pulling an alarm at the AKAG, don't. Save us the grief and yourself the pain. :)
