Who am I?
24, Buffalo born and bred, former criminal justice student, aspiring recording engineer, security guard by necessity but musician by choice. Heavily exposed to music since childhood, it's only natural that it's a huge part of my life. After playing in a band for a couple years, I've been working in my makeshift home studio for the past few years. I've caught the production bug and am planning to go back to school for audio production in the near future.
Why RM.com?
Since 2001, I've been involved in musical collaboration using the Internet. My fellow "cyberjammers" and I need space to host parts for works-in-progress, as well as our finished products. Thus, the main purpose of this site is as a place to share my music and host files for collaboration. I figured that, since I have the space, I might as well make it look nice. :) I registered rorymisener.com on October 18, 2003, and I revise the design quite infrequently. (The current design, RM.com 4.0, launched on November 15, 2007.)
I first got into web design in 1998 at age 14. I learned HTML from reading others' code and a couple online tutorials. I ran the web site for my band from 2000 through 2002. It wasn't much, but it worked. I hand-code my pages using XHTML. I've tried enough visual editors and, while I'm sure using one would be faster at times, I prefer the control of hand-coding.
